Our Story
Hello, I’m Heather — founder of The Little London Post Box
After living in the United States for more than 25 years, I returned home to the United Kingdom and noticed something had quietly disappeared from childhood — the simple excitement of receiving real mail. In a world now filled with screens, postcards, and letters addressed just to children have almost vanished.
Being back in the UK reminded me how extraordinary the country’s history truly is — from royal palaces and ancient castles to streets and landmarks that have shaped centuries of stories. Yet many children around the world rarely get the chance to discover these places in a way that feels personal and engaging.
The Little London Post Box was created to bring those two ideas together.....
Each month, a postcard is mailed from the United Kingdom, introducing them to a famous landmark and its story, and a vintage stamp. Along the way, children begin to build a collection of numbered postcards that connect them to the history, culture, and charm of the UK and grow their stamp collection.
Not only are the postcards educational, but as the collection grows, you can play games with the postcards - guessing what the landmark is called, where it is in the UK, who built it, or who lives there, or even mail it to someone special - the opportunities are endless.
My hope is simple: that each envelope arriving in the mailbox brings a moment of curiosity, discovery, and excitement — and perhaps a small reminder that the world is full of wonderful places waiting to be explored.
